The historic Glade Top Trail winds 23 miles through beautiful glades, colorful trees and views. It is Missouri's only National Forest Scenic Byway. Near the Longrun, MO side of the Glade Top Trail, just off Highway 95, there is the "Panoramic View." This looks down over our church building, as seen in the picture.
Our church is located "off the beaten path" (about 1 hour or so east of Branson, MO). We are a conservative, fundamental Baptist church. This harmonizes with the spiritual picture of the "Old Path" standards, ways and foundations we seek to restore and preserve:
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken. (See also Jeremiah 18:15)
We boldly stand for the Biblical, traditional family, and the old King James Bible that once blessed this nation when it was obeyed and honored.
Our "church building on a hill," out in the open, is also representative of another part of our vision. We are commanded to let our light shine and not be hid. We are commanded to "preach on the housetops" without fear of men (Matthew 10:27-28; 5:14-16). Therefore, we seek to use the Internet, and various forms of modern technology to spread the truths and light of the Holy Scriptures to a dark world (without neglecting in-person evangelism).
[We are in the line of the original, classic IFB's (Independent Fundamental Baptists). See our Article/blog post on this subject.]

Old Path Baptist and Pastor Joey Faust are thankful for your gracious offerings! Thank you for partnering with us in the Lord's work, till He comes!
Please reach us at pastor@OldPath.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The Bible teaches us that every person has sinned against God and His perfect law:
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight...
Every person is a sinner, deserving of eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire (see Revelation 20:12, 15).
The above is the bad news we need to believe! But the good news (the Gospel) is that:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Repent of (turn from) trusting in your own supposed good works to be eternally saved! No one will be saved by being good. Instead, trust in what Jesus Christ did for all of us on the Cross. He shed His Blood as the only payment for our sins that God will accept! Receive this free gift by believing this good news! Trust Christ, not yourself, your works, or anyone else!:
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Stop trusting in yourself. Believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and what He did for you! He created all things. He came down from Heaven to live a perfect, sinless life as a Man. Then He died for us all to pay for our sins. He was raised from the dead! This is wonderful news. The Bible is true. It proves itself by its amazing prophecies! It predicted Jesus would come and die for us, centuries before He came (read Isaiah 53:4-11; Zechariah 12:9-10; Psalms 22:14-18; Matthew 27:35).
If you now believe this good news, then let us know so we can rejoice with you, and help you in your new relationship and walk with God! Satan is not happy that he lost you!
Our mailing address is: 459 CR 917. Theodosia, MO. 65761. Our physical location of the church building is up the same road, about 1/4 mile on the right. See signs. If you see CR 919 you came too far. Call 417 255-5610 and someone will meet you to help you locate us. We are 6 miles from Theodosia. And about a mile or so from Longrun, MO.
Our mission is to share the love of God and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, and to serve our community with compassion and grace, while also restoring the broken moral foundations that have been long forgotten. Our desire is to get back to the basics, and the old paths and ways that once blessed our nation and families. We also believe in reproving and exposing Satanic agendas that seek to bring more moral decay, contrary to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Old Path Baptist Church is an INDEPENDENT Baptist Church. There is no outside governing denominational board or organization we are affiliated with. We are not an incorporated organization. We are ORIGINAL, Classic IFB (Independent Fundamental Baptist), - NOT NIFB (New IFB). This does not mean we are stale or unwilling to grow and improve where needed in the Lord. Early in his ministry, Pastor Joey Faust stood for homeschooling; having children in main services; and other pro-family changes to many traditional IFB practices. For many years (before it became popular) he also has taught/teaches and encourages healthy living in spirit, soul and BODY. He exposes the agendas of Big Pharma, and promotes chemical-free eating, and promotes other Biblical and natural health issues. Many have been blessed with renewed health from such Biblical encouragements and admonitions. Yet, unlike many modern Baptists, we also stand for many things that were in many of the original IFB churches long ago, that are often lost today (e.g,, holy separation; the King James Bible; the proper emphasis on what we can gain and lose at the second coming of Christ when judgment begins at the house of God - the Judgment Seat of Christ; a clear, Gospel of salvation in eternity by grace through faith alone, etc. (not works salvation, or so-called "Lordship salvation," that makes a mockery of the Judgment Seat of Christ, while wrongly urging believers to place faith in their fruit for assurance of ETERNAL salvation).
There are no absolutely perfect people. Are you a believer in the Lord Jesus? Do you want to grow in the ways of the Bible? Do you want to get ready for the return of Jesus? Do you want to serve the Lord and help others know Him? Come and grow with us! We warn parents to avoid or greatly watch over and regulate their children's access to social media, video games, pop culture, movies, etc. The ultimate goal is for the hearts of youth to grow up desiring holiness for the Lord, in love for Him and His ways, and to understand the dangers of polluting our minds and souls with Satanic, rebellious, androgynous, Leftist propaganda disguised as "mere entertainment!" But parents should do more than merely teach why these things are hurtful. In summary, we are praying for laborers in the harvest! And you can't relocate (if you live too far), then please fellowship with us online, etc.!
If you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, your eternal salvation cannot be lost. His Blood purchased for you a perfect righteousness! Regarding eternal salvation and your everlasting life with God, you are perfect in God's eyes, since the Lord Jesus Christ is perfect. That should make you extremely grateful, so that you are willing to serve Him, obey Him, and not bring shame to His name! This is the motivation of love and gratitude. But there is also the Biblical motivation of fear. Not fear that you will lose eternal salvation, but fear that you will lose the blessings He wants to give you when you WALK in obedience (joy, peace, fellowship with Him, answered prayer, and treasures, crowns and rewards at the Second Coming of Christ). Plus, the warnings in the Bible that seem to speak of a loss of salvation in eternity, are actually speaking of TEMPORARY chastisement (punishment) in this life, and/or at the Coming of Christ. There are TWO judgments. There is the Great White Throne after the coming 1000 year Kingdom of Christ's reign. All believers are guaranteed eternal life at that judgment. But before the 1000 year Kingdom there is the Judgment Seat of Christ. This is for BELIEVERS. It is not for the purpose of deciding your eternal salvation, but for judging HOW you have lived your life after you have been saved. Many believers will appear in shame at this judgment, and may be temporarily disciplined. Yet they will NOT lose eternal salvation. They may miss the glory of the 1000 year reign of Christ. But they will live forever with God after the 1000 years:
1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes...
1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
To please God in gratitude, and to receive extra blessings, and escape temporary discipline in this life, and at the future Judgment Seat of Christ, admit you have sinned after you have been saved, confess it to Him, ask Him for forgiveness for it, and bring forth fruits of repentance to show you are sorry. Get back in the race! Jesus is coming! No time to waste:
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If you fear God and you are serious about wanting to live right for Him, and grow, give us a call or email: pastor@OldPath.org 417-255-5610
We'd like to help you! None of us are perfect in our Christian walk after salvation. But we should be growing, overcoming sins, and resisting the Devil! Getting better and better for Him!
The Bible predicted that these last days will be dangerous. There will things like pestilence, disease, weather emergencies, great deception, and much more. It is a good time to "head to the hills" so to speak! And with this world of video games, cell phones, social media, many children (and adults) have lost sight of the Creator! Like the days of Sodom, many live without any awareness of God in their day to day lives. For all of these reasons, our goal is to hold gatherings, retreats, old-fashioned camp meetings, etc., in our rural beauty of the Ozarks - where the quiet beauty can allow people to see the handiwork of the Creator again; learn about Him in a place with pure beauty, pure fellowship, pure Bible, pure fun, pure food, and much prayer! Our goal is NOT to fall asleep or be lazy. These gatherings will take much sacrifice, time, and labor. But we believe that God will bless them! He already has. We seek to win as many local people to the Lord as possible. But the area is very rural. However we are about an hour from Branson, MO. And millions pass through there. And we seek to continue our online sermons, articles, books, etc. to reach as many as we can around the world. We have large acreage, horses and ponies, etc. It is a beautiful place to fellowship, hold meetings and retreats, ride horses, hike, hunt, learn about wild edibles and medicines, etc. If this is all something you might be called to, then give us a call or email, and let's pray about making it happen! We need more laborers, as the Lord commanded us to pray! Labor where you are at. But if you are callled here, let's grow together and get ready for His return!
Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Absolutely! Others have done so, and we hope we can be a blessing to you. We have some RV hook-ups, and hope to get some more soon. We have a place to shower, etc. And a beautiful lake is about 6 miles away as well.
Pastor Joey Faust spent his early elementary school days in Blythewood, SC, where his family lived on a farm/ranch. He loved the horses and livestock at a time when Blythewood was very rural. His family on his father's side goes back to the Revolutionary War there, and they became members of the Sandy Level Baptist Church, and its offshoots. As a child Pastor Faust loved to read books on horses; and at the early age of 13 he became the Equestrian counselor at the YMCA camp, where he continued a few years, often as the sole camp counselor. Although often younger than some of the teens he managed at horse camp, he enjoyed inspiring and teaching them to overcome challenges, in enjoying the horses.
His grandparents lived in the Appalachians, and he visited the Smoky Mountains often. This youth background instilled a love and an understanding of how rural, ranch culture can be an eye-opening, edifying help to modern youth (and adults) too often glued to phones, screens, etc., with no fresh air and little exercise, and almost no hard work or challenges. His own children learned to ride early, and enjoyed participating in local rodeos.
As a pastor in Texas, Faust realized that there was an agenda to feminize men in many churches and ministries. He authored a booklet to expose this, titled Restoring Biblical Manhood in an Effeminate Age. Years later several Evangelicals published books exposing some of the same things, such as, Why Men Hate Going to Church; No More Mr. Nice Guy, etc. The traditional Cowboy image is a protest to the psychological and leftist agenda to erase distinctions between the sexes. How much more when we add "fundamental Cowboy" to the description? Pastor Faust has been a leader in exposing the homosexual and feminist agendas for many years, before many realized how bad it would all become.
Also, our location in Ozark County, in Longrun, on the Glade Top Trail (historical dirt road), fits with this vision. We have horses and ponies (and mini-ponies) to ride, pet and feed. And acreage to build up, and use to bless people with wholesome, God-centered, natural enjoyment and recreation.
Finally, those who are saved and are over-comers will be permitted to return with Christ when He descends to earth to fight the Antichrist and his armies. The faithful will follow the Lord, riding ON WHITE HORSES! Flying horses!:
Revelation 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Fundamental Christian Cowboys! (and Cowgirls)
